Tributaries
Sterling silver with copper plates - the copper plates are highly polished to a mirror finish I then use a technique "reticulation" which involves heating the silver taking it to melting point. While the silver is in semi liquid form I use a pic to form design and texture in the silver before it solidifies and fuses with the copper. This process may be repeated a number of times before the desired texture or design is achieved. I then use many different polishing techniques to achieve the final finish on the piece. This process allows for amazing textures and designs making every jewellery piece unique.
This pendant inspired by river tributaries - I love the way nature works bringing life through the delivery of fresh water by the way of intricate archeries flowing into a river. I textured this pendant with various patterns depicting the many terrains a tributary must carve its path before reaching the river. I use a hand graver to score each tributary's path.
